@Logan Buckley Thank you for your thoughtful reply. 🙂

      2. Logan Buckley

@faerykat I’m glad you said what most people were thinking… I LOVE BTS, and I LOVE RM… but I wish he had spoken out against ARMY’s hostility and toxicity. The fact james spoke about people telling him he should be dead and RM’s response was “we accept your apology” when there was nothing for James to apologize for is… disappointing to say the least. I think they’re all talented wonderful people, but they have SOME responsibility over how their fans behave. I’m hesitant to comment this though, because I don’t want to be bombarded by hate and name callers that you had. Godspeed!

      3. LiterallyAnn

@faerykat I get your point. He should've at least tried to stop them.

      5. LiterallyAnn

@faerykat how the hell is he supposed to control thousands of ANTIs? Even if he went on his knees and begged, some ANTIs would still carry on with their behaviour. It's noone's fault that there are such fans. There are always good fans and bad fans and as much as we would like that to end, there is nothing we can do about it.

    2. Daenerys Targaryen

James didn't really apologize, but RM handled himself well!

      1. i am jae

@army x blink which is obviously not true cause im 17 teen 🤬james corden bad

      2. EXOBaekhyunisking

@Sanskriti While I know it was a joke and don't agree w ur point I respect it for being chill w it unlike some other people embarrassing us

      3. EXOBaekhyunisking

@SNC Agreed. Even as Army I agree It's just toxic twitter stans wanting someone else to hate on

      4. EXOBaekhyunisking

@Nisha OK "best leader ever and perfect" is a stretch but he handled this well

      5. Maryada Pal

Most people here are saying that he don't need to apologize....we'll hear me out We ARMY and BTS are like family we support, respect, love each others we do what we love and if someone publically calls out to the millions of different aged, raced, nationality, religion people a bunch of 15y/o and some other stuffs I find that disrespecting(I hate those giving death threats) what would be your reaction if someone out of context call elder people minors which is offensive and I heard other artist fans saying that James acts so nice in camera but off camera doesn't care(but idk their full stories so won't argue with them simple) y'all need to SHOW matureNESS too

    3. You find me everywhere because you're everywhere .

No need to say but the way they comforted JAMES was incredible ! Our boys are so kind !

      1. Tae still hasn’t found his bag

@Kane1993x Or maybe “so called teenage girls” actually like bts because of the music they give and the meanings behind it as well as the inspiration they give to all genders and ages ect people like them because their actually good human beings and they have the biggest fandom for a reason

      2. Cool Weeb

@Kane1993x see now you clearly shows how your life is only abt others to give a f abt you ,this fandom knows how to love themselves and we hate fake love/interest

      3. Kane1993x

@Cool Weeb Your weak of mind. Clearly shown by how easily you can be absorbed into a fandom that doesnt give a single F*** about you. :)

      4. Cool Weeb

@Kane1993x it's part of it ,keep going if you're that confidant it's your destination anyway

      5. Kane1993x

@Cool Weeb If saying bad words on the internet is your definition of hell then lifes gonna be rough for you...

    4. Ella McCarthy

Namjoon is so well spoken. It’s so impressive how he managed to calm the situation with James to not make it awkward or damage future opportunities, while also standing completely with ARMY. And the level of trust between him and the guys that they let him speak for all of them in such a delicate situation? This is why we love him, Army and BTS 💜💜💜

      1. Logan Buckley

@Craig Bukenya Bagosera this is my hope. I really just wish they actually spoke out about the toxicity and hostility within ARMY… getting death threats is never okay- especially over a harmless joke. I love my boys, but it’s disappointing nonetheless that they don’t stand against violent behavior like that and play it off like “we accept your apology”.

      2. Craig Bukenya Bagosera

He didn’t exactly stand with the fans. He jokingly said you’re forgiven, because I doubt they’re offended. They’re disgusted by the repulsive fans that foster tension and conflict, at any given opportunity.

      3. common sense

Very well said. So much to appreciate in Namjoon's leadership skills. He really should run for some government leadership position. He is endlessly impressive, he's both left brain and right brain, you rarely see someone so analytical and also artistic. I love him and his adorable dimples. BTS has so much talent and skill loaded into those 7 guys!

      4. Raphita Tobing

Agree with you there !..For someone so young RM is so wise. Love him.

      5. Sarah Lioe

        I am 61 , i am bts fans🤩

    5. Elira Uchiha

RM making sure the members are okay. Holding the hand of Jhope after the Star Jump, asking Jimin if he's alright after flexing, and holding the hand as well of Jin after what he said. Great one!!

Isn't that amazing, how he checks in with members to make sure they are ok! He is such an empathetic leader, far above any other leader I have ever seen. How does he do it?! He is like a saint.

@Suzy op meant "they" as all of them. James and BTS. Stop being delusional. Nd he didn't lie. Though he told it jokingly but it was too far.

I'm so glad they don't have to speak in English in their interviews anywhere anymore. Why pressurise them to do something they're not always comfortable with??? We love, respect and cherish our BTS brothers and sons just as the way they are with their shortcomings and flaws. In fact I see no flaws or shortcomings in them at all!

@Katherine Ann, I loved him at the beginning of the show. J-Hope trying to lift James, and than that face he made… 😂🤣😂

      3. Katherine Ann

I especially like to hear Suga answer in Korean. He is not limited to a generalized, canned comment, and we hear his tone of voice. The audience gets a taste of how eloquent, insightful, and honest he is. They get a glimpse of the greatness and depth that fans have discovered in BTS lyrics. And this time, (Bonus!) they got a taste of how powerfully Agust D can wield his words for effect! That first sentence felt like a blow. "Very bitter about this whole situation." Boom! Sobering, and a little scary. But immediately we felt relieved as Suga evoked sympathy for the band with the second sentence. And we could all relate to "It was very difficult". Then he took us on a journey of self discovery. Wait, no. Rather, discovering what is precious: relationships, people, meaningful work. And for the finishing touch, a bit of philosophy. Well, I guess you can tell who is my bias du jour for 01Jan2022, lol! But I am OT7. I enjoyed hearing all of them, whether in English or Korean. James made time for each one to speak. Except for Hobi. Hmm. Hello, my bias wrecker! Well, James did wait for the audience to settle down, and then asked J-hope to show them the "star jump" again. Maybe that was how J-hope took his turn to talk. Dance is a language he is fluent in. All I know is, he looked happy, was engaged, and was in constant motion from the time he danced onto the set until the last second of the video. Non-stop charisma, as with all his stage performances. God continues to bless me in the most unusual ways! May Jesus lead you, God bless you, and the Spirit bring you comfort every day of 2022.

    9. Resurgam🕊️

lmao, I love how calm BTS is about the whole thing, they don't even need to defend themselves, they have an entire ARMY of lawyers, doctors, actors, singers, students (soon to be something great) lol

      1. DatVlogs

@Cool Weeb oml grow up he did not insult you. saying a fandom is mostly made up of teenagers deserves death threats? its clear that he didn’t mean to offend them and honestly it was even offensive ppl took it way too far

      2. Cool Weeb

@JR Tacka he insulted us I'm an Army so yes he did insult me and he insulted the boys (and all the teenagers) , made the stereotypes worse made us a joke in front of everyone, no one has the right to complain if he started the fight ,death threats are the consequences of his doing, if you start bullying don't expect nice words back call me a fan or not you're no one to decide just a useless opinion

      3. JR Tacka

@Cool Weeb oh I'm sorry, he threatened your life? Called you names? Stalked you and sent threats? Stop justifying being cruel bullies and criminals. Your the very thing BTS sings in protest of, that they advocate against, and you think to call yourself a fan

      4. Cool Weeb

@JR Tacka baby you call us cruel and we only did what he did to us

      5. Alex Masonick

They have an army of mostly moronic 12 year olds

    10. Ashlee Veneman

James isn't lying, these kids put everything into those performances. I'm glad they're taking a little break cause they need it.

    11. Monique Carrero

Like just that moment where Namjoon was like “James, it’s ok, we appreciate the apology” was so calm and it just gave me the chills how amazing he is.

      1. Callme Byyourname

        @Monique Carrero thank you ❤

      2. Monique Carrero

@Callme Byyourname so basically he said, army is just a bunch of 15 year old girls and Bts at the UN was unusual, armies took this as offensive and Rm just wanted to clear the air.

      3. Callme Byyourname

        What did james do?

    13. Yoongles

I love bts because they're hardworking, talented, humble, polite, support each other, and nice to people and their fans 💜💜💜💜

    14. kylie

I don’t agree with the comment James Cordon made about “15 yr old girls” but I feel like you should NEVER send death threats to someone. BTS wouldn’t want their army doing something so hateful too, seeing as they experience it almost everyday.

      1. Weronika S

@Amber Arcadia He literally said that he loves Army even though he got death threats. Some people are so ungrateful.

      2. Scarlett Huang

@Aj also, if you compare bts to other kpop groups, if im being honest, they actually dont look ideal in terms of physical appearances. They are not eyecatching. Most members dont fit beauty standards (only two members (v and jin) fit beauty standards) and the rest arent that good looking. They look extremely, extremely average. Ofc im not saying they are ugly but when i first got into them i didn’t understand the hype around their looks AT ALL. As far as i could tell a huge number of other korean males can surpass their looks. The reason why the fandom is so big - u wanna know why? - its bc of their message. BTS’ music has always targeted mental health, which is why they appeal to a diverse audience and gain SUCH a huge following - which is why the majority of the fandom are NOT teenagers. Their music has taught millions of people to heal themselves and love themselves, to really finally enjoy their life, and thats part of the reason why the fandom is so loyal to bts - because they have LITERALLY saved their lives. I also have to mention that the reason why u probably think the majority of the fandom are teenagers is because social media is honestly a teenager’s playground - teens are more likely to go on social media than adults and elders. But if you see the statistics of apple music, spotify, gaon, and other charts, you can really see that the fandom varies all ages. The reason why u see many teenagers all the time commenting on bts is because social media is literally only for teenagers, its unusual to see a person in their 30s comment on youtube or instagram

      3. Scarlett Huang

@Aj that is completely untrue. According to goan charts and spotify, the main bts listeners vary a lot in age, 21% for teenagers, 23% for people in their 20s, 26% for people in their 30s, and so on, I think i make myself clear. These are OFFICIAL and LEGITIMATE statistics, not like ur assumptions, even though the slight majority are female audiences, they are actually pretty balanced, with 56% female and 44% male. If you go to a bts concert, there are a LOT of males, and by a lot i actually mean a LOT. And a lot of the people there (i can vouch because ive been to many) look at the least in their 20s and look like they have jobs, ive even seen grandpas and grandmas enjoy themselves. How else is their company networth 3.6 billion dollars? They cant possibly earn so much money cuz teens cant buy so much stuff, esp if they are overpriced.

      4. That Girl, Stephanie

@MOA ARMY bruh literally everyone dislikes bts armies because of their yearly death threats to anyone 😭😭

      5. Aj

@jayda halls a good 50% of their popularity comes from their physical appeal if we’re being honest. there’s a reason why there aren’t any ugly kpop groups, young girls wouldn’t sell out their shows and post cringey edits to boost their brand

    15. Vixikie

I love that they can speak Korean so they can express themselves better and also so that everyone can speak. It must be nice for RM as well, since in the beginning he did most of the speaking and translations. I love that James is a geniune fan and respect them.

    16. Pars

The way namjoon said "James, it's alright. We appreciate the apology" was so calm. He is a good person and a good leader

      1. Cool Weeb

@Steve Rogers don't you f know what happens to Army around the world? don't you see what we hear and get every f day? hell yeah whoever started the war we won't be nice with him it's just words after all it's not like the threating is real so that means it's not harmful right? just like what you meant stupid

      2. Steve Rogers

@Cool Weeb how harmful was that to you? Did he send you death threats? Did he say you deserve to die? Did he make fun of your dead friends? How did you really suffer from his jokes that you had to bully him? And now picking on me after a month??? Who’s being stupid here, stupid?

      3. Cool Weeb

@Steve Rogers I don't need attention from stupid people I just hate when you start to attack those who defend themselves ,he literally started the fight and he 100 percent knew it's harmful so he got what he deserved

      4. Steve Rogers

@Cool Weeb who the hell is complaining? Didn’t you go through the comment line? Did you dig through this old comment looking for attention?

      5. Cool Weeb

@Steve Rogers good now don't complain

    17. Misi Dai

I’m always amazed at how intelligent and positive Park Jimin is. His „I believe you“ is the smartest answer one could give in such situations. I wish RM who brought the topic would take a stand on the absolutely unacceptable behavior of their own fandom and not just silently let it pass as ok.

      1. Princess Berlin

        @JR Tacka very true

      2. common sense

@Tove Kauppi Exactly, BTS has faced so many detractors in the West (and actually in Korea) sticking to that meme that their fans are all 15 year old girls which is the opposite of reality (their diverse fans makes them unique) that it is a sensitive subject for them. The way RM handled the subject shows me that BTS was upset by Corden's behavior, as was I, caving into the typical insult being hurled at BTS as a "boy band". Obviously no fan should sent death threats to anyone but that is not representative of the majority of fans who were offended so to just focus on one or two fanatic's standard stupid death threats takes away from the fact that it was not a very funny joke and it perpetuates the stupid notion that BTS is not talented except to a bunch of 15 year old silly girls. Like you said "feeding into bad stereotyping" is not nice especially from a media personality like Corden who claims to be BTS' biggest fan!

      3. JR Tacka

@Tove Kauppi that's very true. The difference between a joke made wrong, and a death threat. For sure the joke is the lesser evil so to speak and often not intended the way it is taken. Add to that the horrible time we all had during the pandemic and people being so cruel over such things, it is the saddest and most harmful of things to the boys careers. After all, forcing people through fear is sort of well past toxic. More counties should consider seeing such things as criminal, just like domestic abuse and bullying. That's basically what it is after all. Maybe that's why the stereotype? Because most like to believe that adults wouldn't act so irresponsible and childishly cruel. We know better tho, age doesn't dictate if your a kind person or a cruel one.

      4. Tove Kauppi

@JR Tacka oh, it’s for sure a problem that people think being a fan means that you get to attack others, but saying that only armies do this is definitely not accurate. There are (unfortunately) toxic parts of most fandoms, especially as they grow large. Fandom wars are also a big issue and those wouldn’t happen if there weren’t toxic people on both sides. I’m not justifying the hate people piled on Corden, I merely pointed out why the joke wasn’t seen as harmless by everyone. Even if you see someone feeding into harmful stereotyping, escalating the situation to those extremes is of course not ok and I think most people know that. I definitely would prefer if people would think about the impact their words have before they release them onto the internet, but unfortunately way too many people are emboldened by the lack of accountability and the assumption that the celebrity they’re saying something awful to will never see their comment.

      5. JR Tacka

@KLC yes, but I think it's because they shouldn't have to carry the weight of responsibility for other people's actions. They try to encourage positive behaviour, without sacrificing their mental heath and wellbeing. I don't want them to take that burden on, because it's the responsibility of the people doing the awful things and noone elses

    18. NonstopDoodle

RM started the conversation, and ended the conversation. If he says, “Let’s move on”, I’m good with moving on.

    19. Venus Pazmiño

It was very emotional to see Baby Mochi and PAPa Mochi together again. Their interactions were a lot of fun.

@Miss Sleepyhead James basically joked about armys as "a bunch of 15 Yr old girls" (which he cleared it today that he was obviously joking since he is an army who is not a 15year old) when bts attended UN. And armys got really sensitive and attacked James...yeah that's the tea

I can't appreciate namjoon enough. He is such a great leader .bts and entire army are lucky to have him ..honestly the way he handled the situation made me proud and none can neglect the way he calmed and appreciated the members for their confidence ...why is this making me emotional 😭 I love you NAMJOON Best leader XD

    31. camila

"we appreciate your apology. we wanted to clean the air" The best leader ever

      1. piecky

@totally-a-spy Telling someone to die is protecting? That's being a bully and all James did was make a harmless joke. This is why ARMYs are so hated, you guys overreact to the dumbest shit.

      2. KuruMiku

@totally-a-spy you're so dramatic omg didn't he just make a joke abt armies being 15 yr old its not like he called bts an offensive slur.

      3. utania

@totally-a-spy people, some of you sent death threats to a family father for making a lame joke.... and you think your in the right to be pissed? For a joke that wasnt even directly shot at BTS but at their fanbase? Y'all are the best prove that you need to chill. Honestly, the nerve of some people. If RM was truely a leader he would've called both sides out, james and the toxic people in the ARMY! I'm actually a bit disappoi ted in them, but i get it, korean culture is different and hate can turn against them pretty quickly.

      4. Christie Nguyen

@totally-a-spy sorry but y’all were not protecting the boys in the situation. this is y’all overreacting & blowing things out of proportion like always. it was a simple joke. if you got offended by what james said then no way you’re gonna make it out in the real world 😭 joon wanted to make peace to stop the unnecessary hate and death threats toward james

      5. Sabrina Suzanne

@Fa Ali dude it’s not that deep

The way Suga silently smiles when Namjoon calls out Jin for lying. 4:35- 4:50 *my heart* 🥰

    36. Mina Hwang

I'm glad they took this maturely, but with a hint of joking, that's a lot of good to talk about and seriously I'm glad that James accepted his mistake and apologized, that also speaks very well of him

      1. De Deb

@Shakira I know, actually I am very aware of that and yes that is scary

      2. Shakira

@S M you're the only person who pointed out the misogyny. I wish people could see more on that side. Agree with everything you said.

      3. Shakira

@De Deb if you have actually explored the armys and blinks fandom you should know how much of bandwagon fans bts and blackpink has. Toxic fans and bandwagon fans are two different things. It terrifies me how anyone on the planet can call themselves an army and cause trouble on purpose and bring bad name to the fandom.

      4. eykyra

@Abigail Yeah exactly but it does not mean they are obligated to say what's on the script as OP said. It's just for support/reference

      5. Abigail

@eykyra it makes sense to have a script, English is not their first language. It’s highly likely they prepare what they want to say beforehand, and also ask the host what will be brought up If you watch a lot of their backstage videos you will see them preparing English comments for questions that may be asked

    37. carla taylor

I just love James. He is so passionate about music and people.

    38. Lastly Firstofall

RM is extremely well spoken considering English is his second language. It’s not just the words, you can tell that he really is extremely intelligent. Cool young man. Got you beat James. 46 here boyy!!

      1. Dunja O

@Lastly Firstofall And I'm an ESOL teacher educator to whom you've just written that youre impressed :) Yeah, he's an impressive human. Yet nothing impressive about a person speaking English fluently. English L2 users make half a planet :)

      2. Lastly Firstofall

@Dunja O No one said it was strange!! Don’t make it into something like that. I’m an ESOL educator so I notice these things! It’s my job 😉😁 His articulation, speech patterns and understanding of the language has really impressed me.He has a better grasp of the language than many native English speakers. His elocution is fantastic for a native Korean speaker. On his intelligence, it’s pretty obvious he has a very high iq.

      3. Dunja O

English is the second language of most of the planet. This includes the majority of professors at American universities. Nothing strange about RM speaking English well.

    39. Dunamis

i love how the boys interact with James - its always a great interview!

    40. prakash yadav

The way Jimin hugged James 💜 He's truly such a lovely human being So kind and forgiving.

    41. Arabella Grace Cancino

"Papa Mochi... I believe you" the fact that Jimin had to verify that he's still Papa Mochi 😭

      1. Preeti Ramakar

        @Love Urself I know that

      2. Love Urself

@Preeti Ramakar no that script thing was in performing .not in interview. Script thing was a lie.

      3. Daniel Sohn

        ^PAPA TTEOK 🖕👺🖕

      4. Preeti Ramakar

@Mario Ceballos nobody knows if it scripted or not its some people who think it's scripted but the main thing is the issue is solved now

      5. Young Hee Koo

James still loves BTS so much! ^^

    42. AllThingsFab Kitchen

This bilingual interview should be thought in Journalism classes. I absolutely love it. Flawless!

    43. Helena Campbell

That hug between Papa and Baby Mochi and the end, though! 🥺

    44. BTSColorfulArmyMember

"I think we tried to see less of the bad and more of the good!"🙂Jimin is so cute!🙂😍

      1. BTSColorfulArmyMember

@Aminata Lo I know that suga said that! I was just saying that Jimin is cute!🙂

      2. Aminata Lo

        It's not jimin, its suga.!!

    45. Amy Jane

James is actually a really good interviewer and really good at being inclusive

    46. Simplicity992

I love that RM brought the topic up to clear the air. Shows how much he and BTS cares about making sure no bad blood happens or misunderstandings happens between Army and any celebrities. RM is such an inspiring leader 🥺♥️👏

      1. Shino🔥🔥

      2. skybluefleur

If Namjoon really cared he'd apologize for his own fandom sending death threats around like it's nothing. And he'd stop using blaccent, and apologize for refering to dark skin as "disgusting" but that's another story💀

      3. Simplicity992

@TN-T regardless if it was discussed before, after, or during the show, it was agreed to bring the topic up and clear it with James and that's what matters.

      4. 모욕은비하니까정당화될수없다

        Have a nice day

      5. Sinta Velasco

Absolutely right. This is why I love RM so much

    47. Monserrath Robles

I love “sassy savage” Namjoon, Jimin looks so cute and Tae’s comment make laugh a lot, BUT BRO, MY LITTLE JIN NEVER TALK 😫

      1. Mehekk Repaswal

I feel sad he doesn't get to speak speeches in awards and interviews in English for some period of time which makes me feel sad

      2. Tired of dumb people

Yah he did!! He started buttering James up and RM told him he was lying!!😂🤣 J-Hope is who I didn’t actually hear talk. He was being his usual funny self by trying to pick up James in the beginning though! Lol

    48. •ItsAreeva•

I like how Namjoon said "We appreciate you're apology" instead of "We forgive you"

    49. Savhia Victoria Resende

I loved the program, James and Bts are amazing and funny together. Happy to be an Army

    50. nur Mohammad

only James can be like this with BTS ... they're the best for being so friendly

    51. Eunha Krost

RM is a true diplomat. Loved how he ended the conversation with James.

      1. Taeshi

@sofia zarauz lmao you did whole astrology on him

      2. Jatoryaah Desouza

      3. sofia zarauz

His Mercury is in Libra what can you expect 😎

      4. Zyon⭐️

      5. Zyon

    52. Anita Lopes

I don't think there's actually any tension or drama between them, they just look tense because the whole situation itself is awkward but they know they weren't hurting anyone, I think they're good.

      1. Lastly Firstofall

Exactly. When the other members aren’t fluent in English as much as RM, I can imagine it can be stressful and also the different way interviews are conducted here , I can only imagine. Of course it would be tense and awkward. Plus you never know what you’re gonna get with Corden.

    53. Jiya Sharma

    54. Crystal Benton

Everytime I hear Rm ask James "y' Al right?" it just gives me the chills....

    55. Life Savier

love when baby mochi and papa mochi are together🥰🥰🥰🥰

    56. Pars

I felt like they were all trying to make sure James felt comfortable and knew it was okay and the intention was just to clear the air RM calmly addressing the situation, Jimin’s hug and holding his hand, and Jin’s cute comments about watching his show they are so humble and handle everything with such respect and dignity

      1. ♡𝐾𝑉_𝐹𝐹♡

@hi i am MaRiA~~ yes ik m glad at least most people know its all a joke

      2. hi i am MaRiA~~

@♡𝐾𝑉_𝐹𝐹♡ that's what I said some are taking it too far

      3. ♡𝐾𝑉_𝐹𝐹♡

@hi i am MaRiA~~ true but his show is all About sarcasme and jokes that can be sensitive sometimes and he realises that and some people take this all to fzr

      4. *・ ゚sparkle Jinnie*・ ゚

@hi i am MaRiA~~ agree,it's really not a big deal, but i think it's best to let go of this cause james already apologized and bts already forgave him, they handled it so professionally and so should the fans,l hope the others won't make a huge fudge about this again cause its literally not a big deal

      5. Kayu Melayu

@Eva Giacon In a video James Corden posted, he said that BTS are "unusual" guests at the UN, and claimed that ARMYs are "15y/o girls". He received a lot of hate after. Some ARMYs believe that he was trying to criticise BTS' fanbase, and some believe it was a sarcasm type of joke. The video where he said these things is already deleted, but I think there might be some ARMYs who has saved the video.

    57. Shadow Flight

I love how they were able to bring up this situation and talk about it and how everyone was so kind and full of grace. Honestly the joke really wasn't offensive and certain fans blowing up over it was completely ridiculous and toxic. Like you don't tell someone you want them to die over a stupid joke. So honesty he didn't need to defend himself but I love the fact that he cared enough about their relationship and didn't want it to be seen as a barrier. I think it was really great of him to adress it and BTS were amazing and the kindest people. 💜💜💜

      1. Shadow Flight

@Else Jar The thing is, he never said it was all ARMY. People are putting words in his mouth. That's why cancel culture is so toxic. People take things celebrities say and over-exaggerate, put words in their mouths, or jump to conclusions when that was not what the person meant at all, and then hold it against them forever and act like they are a horrible person. People are seriously acting like James Corden is a horrible person because he made one silly joke about 15-year-olds being excited to watch the U.N. ceremony because BTS performed. I've been listening to BTS since high school and am now an adult in my 20's and I don't think that's offensive at all. I'm sure they do have 15-year-old girls who are fans. But James didn't say that was their only fan base. Because he mentioned that particular demographic of fans in that particular statement and not others, people are trying to say he thinks their only fans are fifteen-year-old girls. It's like if I said "I love chocolate" and someone said "Well what about chicken? Why don't you like chicken? What about ice cream? Guess she doesn't like ice cream cuz she only mentioned chocolate." I'd be like no, I never said that. Just because I was talking about chocolate in this particular moment doesn't mean I don't think other foods are yummy. Also James is a comedian. He jokingly pokes fun at everyone on the show. He made fun of Prince Harry of England. So it's okay to jokingly poke fun at BTS who's he's friends with and has no reason to hate in the first place. He's also not saying girl's interests don't matter. That's again another instance of people putting words in his mouth. He's over generalizing a population because boy bands tend to have a lot of teenage girl fans, and we all know it's an over generalization and that's why it was funny and that was the point of the joke. It's like if I say "the Giants are playing the Packers tonight. Looks like all the guys are gonna be gathering to eat nachos and watch the game". I'm not saying only guys watch football, or that guy's interests are silly. I'm just making an over generalization based on a popular demographic because a lot of guys like football. I understand certain people might have been offended at it and I'm not trying to write off their feelings, but it shouldn't be blown out of proportion to the level it was. I'm just trying to say that we should have grace for people and if BTS are on good terms with him, we shouldn't be stretching out the drama. 😊💜

      2. Else Jar

@Re Renof lol, you clearly did not watch the video then. He said "BTS has one of the largest ARMY on the planet earth. Historic moment. It actually marks the first time that 15 year old girls everywhere found themselves wishing that they were Secretary General António Guterres." It was not a "total harmless joke" but rather extremely sexist and xenophobic. It may seem harmless to you, but it is a phrase meant to belittle and invalidate women’s interests. BTS have an incredible diverse fanbase - people in all ages, genders and races.

      3. Re Renof

If you actually watched the video about the joke then you can see that it was a total harmless joke. He didn't even say that all the fans are 15 year olds, he said all the 15 year olds wishes they were there.

      4. Else Jar

You and JC completely missed the point then. The criticism he received were legitimate critiques from Armys but he chose to focus on the few death threats he received. He made an active choice to portray the Army - consisting of 90 + million as unhinged, toxic and crazy rather than address, what he said was harmful and xenophobic. We can all agree that death threats should not be made, but to generalise such a big group of people is not the way to do it. In the end, had an opportunity to truly learn from the criticism, and get a better understanding, however he ignored it and did not even apologise.

    58. Jin WWH

The way he still called him " biggest bts fan" Like come one even the guys know you are the fakest but they are angels who don’t say anything to anyone and just forgive everyone .

    59. riri

glad we're atleast on the same path about, if there's one act who's relentlessly worked hard for the past two years delivering love and content to their fans then that's bts💜

      1. riri

@Annie girl this ain't no mv. also that's fake facts, and we already past that. can we please move on😭

    61. Regal Purple Orchid

Jin is such a darling. After that 'hard' conversation, I think he was trying to comfort James by saying those words.

      1. Jennifer Amoyo

He is a very caring and considerate person and that is the many reason why he is my bias. Love you, Jin😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

      2. Miri Nna

      5. curvytangerine

yes. I definitely think Jinnie and Jiminie were trying to make him feel better. the boys really like him.

00:30 that was so hilarious 😂😂

    63. armyvoice

My problem with his "joke" is that it has been used so many times and is always targeted towards the females, as if our interests are childish and not important. But when grown up men shout at the tv while watching football or/and sometimes fighting (Phisically) it is perfecly fine and not childish.

      1. Karla Trigueros

@Weronika S Sorry, I didn't mean to tag you before. Have a nice day!

      2. Karla Trigueros

@Weronika S The western media is constantly pushing an uninformed, almost rehearsed, rhetoric about BTS and their fans. Since 2017 when BTS "put their foot in the door" so to speak, until now, it is once in a blue moon when a reporter or media personality manages to understand the weight and importance behind BTS, their messages, and their work. It's ridiculous and honestly disheartening that the current President of S. Korea and the UNITED NATIONS, the representatives of all the nations around the world, have recognized BTS' social achievements and positive influence before the media has even grasped the bare minimum. People make preconceptions about both BTS and ARMY and somehow cannot manage to see anything past that. The majority of fans have a deeper understanding of the lessons and insight that come from the stories and lyrics in BTS' music. Despite having grown so much mentally, emotionally, and psychologically, fans continue to face barriers such as xenophobia, racism, ageism, and sexism/misoginy. It's quite the double-edged sword: as we seek to educate others and challenge these stigmas and stereotypes which have existed for decades, we manage to achieve some progress while also receiving constant resistance. Attempting to reason with some about why a common practice is wrong, why stereotyping groups of people is hurtful/harmful, frustratingly often leads to being called "sensitive" and "immature." Ironically, it's for these exact reasons that we as fans need to continue to "be sensitive" and challenge the injustices and barriers/limitations within the status quo. In absolutely no way do I condone verbal or physical violence as a reaction to someone's words; death threats are a line that should never be crossed. As ARMY, we will consistently aim to educate others and guide them in a respectful manner, especially if the misguided people are within our group. We pride ourselves in being one of the most diverse fandom's around, with people of all races, nationalities, creeds, genders, sexualities, professions, and ages. We all have equal value as humans, however, it does not mean that we are or want to be treated as archetypes.

      3. Weronika S

James was saying that BTS' main audience are teenage girls and that's true. It doesn't mean to say that all of their audience are teenage girls. Everyone's allowed to have different tastes. I don't think James ever meant it that liking BTS is childish considering that James is also an Army.

      4. Paola DG

I'm not an Army, I'm a feminist and I'm almost 30yo but girl YOU - GOT - THE-POINT LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK (of course death threats are never acceptable but what you say is so damn right - and sad)

      5. yaneh

exactly! but not a lot of people in the comments get it tho.

      5. Freedomofspeech24

I said before that I genuinely think they have an actual relationship beyond the show and I thought they would talk about it. I got bashed lol. Also most of these questions etc are screened before the show so they probably been talked about it. James had no ill intentions and you could tell.

    67. As Dah

Awwwww seeing baby mochi and papa mochi huggin was so adorable at the end

    68. bashar dakhnous

I loved that RM talked about the issue and the clarify everything, but I wanted him honestly to talk about those death threats because it's something absolutely wrong to do every society have bad people and the army community have a toxic people as well that make the majority of the army look bad by doing things like this, so I really wished that RM also have spoken about that issue as well✌️✌️💜

      1. GGG TRM

        same, that's wrong :(

    69. jas n

Major props to RM for addressing this issue from the get-go, not having some weird tension, and for James to openly clear the air with BTS and ARMY in front of him

    70. \\/\//

I love it that they can keep it real... and much respect to James for keeping it real too. So refreshing. And I'm 49 so being real in media is important to me. I come from the world of Johnny Carson....a long long away lol. Love BTS.

What a way to handle the situation, Namjoon ! Infact all the BTS members were so genuinely nice they didn't have any negative thoughts 💜 Namjoon is such an attractive and charismatic man. And I love how Jungkook says he is nervous, it's cute, because we know how he is on stage, confident and on fire. I love how Taehyung is looking in this interview, absolutely gorgeous, loved his hairstyle it absolutely suits his beautiful angelic face 💜 To all the BTS members, BORAHAE 💜💜💜

I’ve never seen these guys before and based on the jokes that were made about them, James seemed harmless and it didnt necessary need to be to address but they made it very lighthearted, funny and got it off their chest and apparently their fans chest too! I can never get enough of James Corden AND BTS! What a treat to be watching BOTH on the same stage! The best entertainers in the whole wide world. They have such great chemistry together. Can’t see how anybody could hate you, James. Love you as much as I love BTS!

I do believe James for real likes his Baby Mochi - even if these shoes often are rehearsed to entertain. Power of Mochi id real 😀

    93. Annely Cabrera

Can we appreciate how RM asked Jimin if he’s okay because he started to get very shy. The fact that he’s taking care of his buddies is awesome

    94. Wonder Girl

RM handled the situation very well as the best leader he is even though James never apologized. RM got us ARMYs when we need him. The fact James put Jimin in the spotlight was not it. He made Jimin uncomfortable by doing that crap. The way Jin clowned him was hilarious lmao. Honestly when you are a host, you can't be putting your guests in the spotlight like that. James knew exactly what he was doing cause those were not "jokes", those were obviously insults and the fact he tried to play the victim card is absurd. Calling ARMYs "15 yr old girls" is very insulting cause ARMYs are the most diverse fandom and it's not only girls either.

      1. Bella Blue

James knows how to get attention..

I was so uncomfortable when he put jimin on the spotlight but let's be honest taehyung shouldn't have said that. They're like family but it doesn't work that way with others . Putting someone on the spotlight and touching someone's thighs were not it. Especially when jimin can't rlly deny it either.

      3. Wonder Girl

@MayLily Yep. James knew exactly what he was doing and he thought playing the victim card may help like yeah sure. That was not even a joke, just a plain insult.

      4. Wonder Girl

@Bella Blue Oh you are welcome. I just didn't like how James went through with this one but whatever. RM did a wonderful job.

      5. Bella Blue

James knew what he was getting into.

@bluwu There are a lot of people in this fandom with different opinions. I'm one of them who never felt the need to bad mouth James, and I have no doubt other felt the same.

I hate the fact that a a lot of you rude humen beings said,"I knew James was fake from the start." With some other rude shit, calling him rasict and death threats.. Then now that they together again y'all wanna act all cute. It's not and it shows alot of y'all is fake as fuck.
